Today was as good as it gets. With more than 20 cm of fresh snow, brilliant sunshine, deserted classic-only trails and a refreshing temperature of minus 18 -20 (minus 30 with windchill), we discovered every trail on our planned route to be impeccably groomed. It was the gold standard of classic skiing.
You can read Garry’s description of the trip on the XC Ottawa trail reporting site.
This was just a really special day, conditions were fantastic, snow and grooming just perfect. Thank you everyone. What a great ski.
Hi Jo-Ann and Gary,
Looks like a beautiful ski! Here’s the permalink to Gary’s report – http://skitrails.xcottawa.ca/skitrail_report.php?id=1017
Thanks, Craig. You are sweet. I looked for the link but wasn’t savvy enough to figure it out! Yes, it was the most delightful ski in years. Heavenly!
Yes, it was lovely this week-end.Stayed at Taylor Yurt ( first time I’ve ever experienced frozen toilet paper in the outhouse!)and had great skiing.
