This may be my favorite photo of all time. A most memorable morning. Coffee up on the rocks, looking over the swamp as the sun advanced. A relaxed morning with no agenda other than exploring the swamp later that day. Before this trip I was greatly inspired by the photography of Howard and Jim Smith. Thanks, Paul! Seeing their photos and website has motivated me to slow down and to use that tripod (at least when not in the canoe)!
I like that photo very much with its contrast of full sunlight and full shade. However, you have taken so many beautiful shots. I would be interested in hearing why this is your favourite.
It calls to mind Tom Thomson’s paintings. I’m sure he would have liked it. Wonderful image.
Don, perhaps it is just an emotional attachment to the photo as it was a very relaxed day, with ideal fall weather and no biting insects!
