One of the best hikes of the holiday!  As a test for possible backpacking another year, we hiked the first and last sections of the Chignecto trail.  The signage to the trailhead was non-existent and the forested climb to the view was longer than expected. It was  muddy, rooty and hot, but well worth it!  In the 6 hours we were out  –  we met only one other small group of hikers.   It seems Nova  Scotia is the best kept secret.    I have posted several more Chignecto photos – a real splurge!
