A perfect day – a walk in the woods before breakfast, canoeing in a swamp with a camera mid morning, and a long midday swim in Meech Lake, my longest ever for mid September! It was hot in the canoe, but the water temperature felt like early August. The beaches were packed (!) and by 1:00 the summer parking lots were unbelievably crowded, with lines of cars waiting for a spot to become free.
