Could this heron recognize my kayak ? I rounded the corner and saw him much too late, but he just glanced at me and kept hunting, paralleling the boat as I tried to sneak past him. I suspect it is the same bird as the last few years. The others are more wary. If you look hard at the earlier photo you can possibly spot him, still focused on his fishing as I made a wide berth.
