I was unable to ski today, so I’m posting on behalf of 20 or so skiers in my group who found the conditions disappointing, to say the least. They had originally planned to ski at P11, but it was not recommended, and had not been groomed for 4 days. Instead the group dispersed and headed to various locations including P12, P16 and P19. All reported poor conditions. The trails were littered with leaves and had been stomped by hikers. We are among a growing group of skiers who are fortunate to be old enough to ski on weekdays. On weekends the parking lots are filled to capacity with weekend skiers and large teams. It is often difficult or impossible to find parking unless one arrives early or late in the day. Being able to ski weekdays seems to mean that we are the ones who are subject to unpredictable trail conditions. So much effort is put into the weekends! You might think that the trails are deserted on week days, but this is true only relative to the hectic conditions of the weekends. There are many of us who have yearly passes and would like the consistent conditions that weekend skiers enjoy.
