This guy seems to be missing something! Conditions were generally good this evening except one niggling thing: many skaters throughout the warm day had unintentionally (let’s assume this) flicked snow into the uphill track or even skated over the tracks, leaving tiny pockets of snow for the classic skiers to flatten out. By the time I got there the in-track snow was hardening so it was bumpy and a bit skittery – like skiing with a parking brake on. (Perhaps this was my punishment for using skin skis instead of wax?) Not the end of the world, but a bit irritating when it could so easily be avoided. In any case there was no one around for the most part, so I was able to ski up the hills on the “wrong ” side. It was lovely!
