More photos at www.flickr.com/musicianonskis. Check out the album “Covid Companions”. Usually snakes slither away. This garter snake actually seemed curious about me (or was I was stirring up insects?). We spent a half hour together! He/she climbed a cedar tree at one point – and then fell out of it. I sat on the grass and he/she wove through the grass and leaves, frequently coming closer to me as though checking me out. I looked up “garter snakes” when the visit ended, and sure enough some snake aficionados claim that these snakes are more alert and curious than most. Such an enjoyable afternoon!
