(two photos) An early canoe outing on Lac LaPêche, before the long weekend crowds arrived.  The black flies were slightly annoying only until the sun emerged from the haze and a slight breeze came up.  We saw two water snakes, a turtle, a heron,  loons, countless red-winged blackbirds and a deer.  We heard at least 3 pileated woodpeckers and were able to watch a bald eagle fishing.  We saw the eagle several times over the morning, including on the road during the drive in.  A very peaceful spot this morning.
