When cycling I noticed this palm-sized painted turtle sunning on the Gatineau Parkway near Penguin. It’s rare to see a turtle on the road at this time of the year. He was a sitting duck for cars, so I moved him to the sunniest spot near the swamp and I just hope he didn’t meander back to the road. A car driver would not have noticed him.
