A good cure for insomnia – watching the snow fall. It was an old-fashioned 70’s style snowfall, with cold temperatures, fine snow and strong gusts of wind. As of 9 o’clock this morning the accumulation ranged from 36 cm (knee high) drifts, to completely bare, icy spots. Based on my walk to the bird feeder, the average depth seemed to be somewhere around 20 cm, possibly less.
