A soggy, but thoroughly slow and enjoyable doggie-ramble in the park today. I decided to try trail 8, and after the first few creek crossings (the third one was slippery) it turned into just a very puddly and muddy afternoon, as expected. This is the lookout on trail 8, which looks out over Black Lake. No puddles here. The stretch after Black Lake looked more like a pond than a trail, so we skipped out to the parkway at that point and then returned via Ridge Road. Ridge was undergoing major mud flattening renovations near Keogan but the trail is in good shape. Over several hours we saw at most 4 cyclists, two roller skiers and as we finished, two hikers. Quite a contrast to a couple of weeks ago!
