This half-grown turtle didn’t have a chance on the north loop because he wasn’t large enough to spot while speeding.  I don’t understand why the north loop is even open to cars at this time of year.  It duplicates Meech Lake road in terms of destinations, and has no picnic areas or hiking trails.  This is the turtle egg-laying season and according to NCC  the park aims to protect turtles.  This area is a popular turtle hangout!
