I’m always shocked and saddened to see that it’s necessary to have miles and miles of cordoned-off areas before the once a year crowds drive in to see the leaves during Fall Rhapsody. Too bad it couldn’t be just shuttles, and side-step the plugged parkways , the traffic jams outside town, the park-anywhere-attitude, the smell of fumes and the inevitable litter. It’s been such a pristine park this summer. Why the emphasis on this crazy leaf party? There are are stunning areas for leaf viewing all throughout the National Capital Region.
