Two sure signs that winter is coming: 1. Roller skiers, cyclists, hikers, dog walkers and runners (did I miss anyone?) are all out on the parkways enjoying the car-free atmosphere. 2. You may have to stop your bike to let a ruffed grouse cross the road.
