This was taken May 27, and notice how much open water there is in this pond on the Gatineau Parkway across Meech Lake Road from P8. This is how it normally looks. Those little swampy bits in the background can migrate in the spring and can move locations dramatically in just a few hours. The first time I noticed this I had stopped here at both the beginning and end of my ride and thought I was imagining things as the appearance of the pond had changed dramatically. Yesterday’s marsh invasion was enormous, making the pond seem to almost disappear. (I might check it again on Monday)
