With a rainy forecast for Sunday, we cycled Saturday instead, starting around 8:30 a.m. Garry and I agreed that we enjoyed it more than the usual Sunday fare. On Sunday there are always packs of weekend warriors who pass within cm of other cyclists when maintaining their peloton formations. There are also many more groups of roller skiers to maneuver around. This morning until at least 10:30 the cars on the Champlain parkway very, very few (cyclists were not few) and very considerate of cyclists. The upper Gatineau parkways were closed to vehicular traffic, with the north loop staying car-free until at least noon. This was popular with both cyclists and skiers.
