Signs of autumn on Ridge Road – the leaves are beginning to fall. An empty parking lot at P7, fog and sun with 100 % humidity (according to Environment Canada) and at least 1,000,000 biting flies (my impression). Almost quit right then, but fortunately the bugs petered out after 15 minutes or so. It was most peaceful. Spotted a pileated woodpecker and some time later, a beautiful, gentle collie (and her companion). Just before returning to P7, around 10:00, crossed paths with a group of 44 happy hikers!!
