They red ivies seem more  vivid than I recall from other years.  Is this due to the earlier drought?

I agree. I was expecting the colours to be a bust this year after the summer drought but they are more vibrant than they’ve been in years–especially the reds and oranges. Just shows you how resilient Mother Nature is 🙂

Actually it is virginia creeper and it always goes a bright red..like burning bush. Colours seem very vibrant, and the trees seems to be changing at the same time..all sizes and shapes..wonderful blend of orange, yellow, red and the dark green of the conifers.
