Just coming back to skating after 2 years of stop-and-start after a persistent injury, I found the icy conditions quite unpleasant, to say the least.  It wasn’t particularly dangerous, just annoying where the truck ruts, boot tracks and ice prevailed.  I think Demsis did do a good job, though, considering what they had to work with.  I did manage one pass but I’ll wait for real snow before coming back again with skate skis.   If you are under age 40, have perfect technique and bio-mechanics, or were raised on skis, you would probably think the fast conditions are fabulous.  Note:  classic would have been impossible here.

Thanks for the heads up Joanne…my husband and I both have bad knees so skate skiing is not even an option…we too will have to wait for some real snow before trying classic again.
