Photo from Sunday ….It’s business as usual again in Gatineau Park. The gates were opened to cars on Saturday. Drivers, hikers, runners, cyclists and photographers were all out enjoying the weather before the bugs arrived. (note: many photographers are an interesting bunch – they will take photos even without stopping the car, or park anywhere at all, even 100 meters from a parking lot. )

It always amazes me the ones who stop opposite Goose Pit…come on folks–P8 is just around the corner!
There’s two problems with the scene. The other problem is the joggers who, for whatever reason, are totally occupying the left lane thereby preventing the motorist from veering to the left to accomplish a safe and courteous passing of the cyclist. It’s a mystery why some people believe that if they are foot-powered they have a god-ordained right to be on the left where they are a pain to all others – I meet them all the time when I’m cycling on the bike-paths.
