(3 photos) The snow pelted down for several hours today, and hovered around zero until mid afternoon. As you can see from the tracks, it was possible to enjoy all sorts of activities. I was amazed how lovely the skiing was on the grass, skated one pass of the North Loop and then went back for another pass with classic waxless. What a gift!! Unfortunately the temperatures rose by mid afternoon, and the snow switched to light rain. The temperatures are now plummeting. It will be very icy tomorrow.

I really enjoy seeing this transition period in your Northern climate, with the summer bunnies squeezing in possibly their last run or cycle for the season, and the winter bunnies rejoicing in their first ski. It seems an exciting and magical time to a Southerner.
