Stay home. Not worth it. It was minus two, a couple of cm of fresh powder was down, and a fine crunchy glaze on top of that. Conditions were fast and noisy, but not dangerous: while skating it was necessary to lift the skis several extra inches for each stride. I don’t think even the most modern waxless skis would have worked for classic. It is obvious that the grooming is being targeted at weekend skiers, this despite several parking lots regularly filling to capacity on weekdays. Take at look at the NCC site and your eyes will cross trying to sort out the patchwork of grooming history since Sunday. Could they not at least groom the entire parkway system and Ridge Road on a regular basis?

I agree. I didn’t understand their comment this morning saying “due to freezing rain, tracksetting operations could not be performed”. Seriously??
