Well that was a waste of time and gas. P17. “Recommended” by the park website. (Who “recommends” the trails? Are they skiers?) Temperatures were very low this morning, and grooming last took place two days ago. Presumably it was shortly after this that the hikers and snowmobile did their thing, as we have been in a deep freeze since early Wednesday . You can probably imagine the concrete quality of the trail right now. (I posted more photos on skitrails.xcottawa.ca).

Hi Joanne
I started out on 52 from P17 on Friday 10 Feb, despite the snow mobile tracks. Realized that the strange and deep grooves running back and forth across the skate lane were due to a mountain bike with fat tires. After the turnoff to Brown things improved. Skiers coming back along 53 said that they had little control.
