Is this some Wild Parsnip RIGHT BESIDE the sign, and overhanging the trail? If so, it’s very educational, but do be careful not to brush against it – trail 53, not too far from P17.
Yes, that dried stuff is wild parsnip… All those seeds ready to spawn more plants… I’m not sure the dried plants would cause a problem if touched. It’s the juice that causes very itchy blisters which, if scratched, will readily spread. I had scars on the backs of my legs for years from the dose I picked up as a child.
