This shot is a victory. It’s taken 17 years for the crows to trust me enough to allow a photo through the window. Apparently they can pass traumas down to their offspring – it would be interesting to know what persecution their ancesters endured in this area. This year they are taking peanuts directly from the porch railing as there are no blue jays to steal from. I’m happy they are here (alway 3, sometimes as many as 8) as they chase the local hawk away. I wonder where the bluejays are.
