We hunted for the new comet this evening. It was a short paddle but a long (cold) sit as we waited for the sky to darken enough to glimpse it. I forget the full name, but we are calling it Atlas. The moon was out, and pale stars. A loon flew overhead, a noisy crowd of commuting geese nearly landed on us, and an owl hooted as we waited. The iphone was handheld in the canoe – such a still night. HOT cocao afterwards!
