
WARNING, RANT: 1. I love mountain biking. 2. I also love being on foot in the park. 3. When I’m not on a bike my cohorts and I frequently leap into the “tick grass”, the burrs, into the ditch or into the mud to let the mountain bikers by. Sometimes the bikers nod, say hello, smile or whatever. But often they just breeze by without so much as a glance or a grunt, as though SHARING THE TRAIL means that we walkers BELONG off the trail. Do walkers not have the right of way? It’s tempting to take it.
