Two loons today. They must be content and well fed, very little fishing. One appeared directly in front of me when I was swimming, and paid no attention at all to me, just continuing to peacefully float. (And no Lorraine, sadly not a breeding pair).
They are so beautiful, and I live in hope of a breeding pair one day.
We watched a pair surface 2m off our canoe on Friday at Meech. One then caught a largish fish and took 5 minutes to subdue it and swallow.
Would love to see some photos of chicks, if the pair get to produce. At least it seems they will be well fed in the meantime.
