Three years ago we counted 1 bee in our garden. Now, three years later, my native garden is thriving and we have so many bees! I’ve had to divide clumps of plants and enlarge the garden! Best of all the tiny Columbines planted last year have grown and are the first to bloom. It was challenging to capture the shy, intricate flowers. This was taken with the phone selfie mode, and I was practically hanging upside down.

I love columbines- the delicacy and colours. I haven’t had luck trying to grow them in town, though. My grandmother had some blue- purple ones by her house, in Bury, Quebec.
