Kamikaze Tern  Northern Gannet!   They fly, fly, fly, glide, and then do the most sudden, head-on plunge into the ocean.  (Thanks Peter!)  We watched them by the hour!   This is the first of 4 photos from the Corney Brook area.

I believe this is a gannet, which dives and hits the water at up to 100 km/h. We also were entertained by them at Corney Brook beach just a couple of weeks ago! Stayed at Battery Park too – we may have crossed paths without knowing it.
