I think these “caution ice” signs are rediculous.  It’s Spring skiing, for Pete’s sake!!  The conditions are  changing by the minute.  This one was placed right in the classic tracks (such as they were).

It could be worse: Caution snow!

I suspect GP and Demsis are responding to complaints about the lack of warnings at the icy areas. The sign is probably the lesser evil for complaints.

Though the ‘not recommended’ sign at Burma for the last few weeks hid the jewel of spring skiing to be had on the trail.
