For a change of pace I skied with a big camera in a backpack today. The idea was to catch some of the action of the Quebec/Ontario cup on the biathlon racing trails. It looked like a very well run race, with many safety procedures in place (even to my untrained eye). I arrived late, slightly overheated from lugging the camera up from P9, and I couldn’t stand too long in the cold without my warm photographer’s coat and polar boots. I also don’t know this race course well, so it was generally disappointing for photos. But there are two posted. I may try again next year.
(The skiing today was WONDERFUL! )

Hi Jo-Ann,
Sorry you didn’t get to fully enjoy the experience, you could have gone into the chalet and had a coffee or some soup! If you are interested, maybe next time one of us can show you around a bit. We also practice most Sunday afternoons that we aren’t away at races.
Thanks for coming by, and I will make sure the Mom & Dad of Johnathon get to see your great pics of him!
Another time I would try to come earlier, and a Sunday practice sounds interesting. I must say, it was fun having to ski in. It was unfortunate that I caught only the tail end of the day’s races.
