Skiing today was very pleasant, if a bit spring-like. There were no worthwhile photos, however. This photo is from yesterday, bright red Sumacs tangled among the aspens – near the Ottawa River.
This is a beautiful picture with lovely contrast between the red and white. If I may make a suggestion to the caption, I believe the white trees are trembling aspen, not birch. These species can be hard to tell apart in winter. My clue is that the bark is not peeling.
And here I thought it was the birches I loved! Thanks for the tip. Now that you mention it, I seemed to notice be a lot more “birches” in the winter than in the summer!
