A morning  tour of the lake was a highlight of the trip.  Fresh snow, tracks by only one skier (me!) and complete peace.  Nary a chainsaw was heard.   There are occasionally snowmobilers on the lake but they never seem to rouse themselves before late afternoon.   Non-motorized activity is  unheard of around here.  No one swims, walks, snowshoes or skis.  Because of this, it is largely deserted if you go out before 4:00 p.m.
