The First Trillium! This beautiful photo was taken by Margaret and Bryan Parlor during a hike yesterday in Gatineau Park. It inspired me to go trillium seeking this morning, and indeed, there were a few more out today, but none as nice as this one! There were also Hepaticas, Dutchmen’s Breeches, Coltsfoot, Bloodroot, Spring Beauties and of course leeks. Another trip is in order!

This is beautiful – there is not much out now – the spring flowers are all in waiting mode. I have got bloodroot and some primula denticulata but colour is still pretty scanty.
