(No photos today. It was a dark and stormy day – whew! The rain!)  Here is the second mushroom for Ron.   This was taken several weeks ago on a day when there seemed to be different types of mushrooms popping up everywhere.

Hi Jo-ann:

Beautiful shot of the Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria – agaric tue mouches en francais).
It’s a beautiful mushroom at this stage; however, it’s classified toxic – according to the books it can give you a gut-ache or let you see things that aren’t there or give you beautiful dreams. In certain quarters it’s also known as the magic mushroom. The fly thing comes from its use to kill flies.
