It was a lovely peaceful early morning in the park. No screaming hordes today, mostly just single cyclists. The deer just curiously watched as I slowly passed by on the other side of the parkway.
It’s a huge layer of stress to see this hateful “Us versus Them” attitude in an area that has always functioned more or less like one city. I believe it is the local police who have been asked to look out for Ontario visitors, not the NCC. It’s not “mobility” that transmits the virus, it’s seeing other people. Crossing a bridge to hike in a large park is one of the safer things to do right now, and the park is, after all, not supposed to be exclusive to Chelsea residents but to all Canadians.
I envy your access to the park. The Gatineau Park website is pretty explicit in banning Ontario residents.
