This appeared on our patio!!! Fuligo septica, better known as “dog vomit slime mold”. It’s apparently harmless unless you are allergic to the spores. Scientists are checking out its properties for use in antibiotics, cancer-fighting drugs and heavy metal chelation. And perhaps not surprisingly, it thrives in warm, wet locations.

I love reading “dog vomit slime mold” first thing in the morning. It really sets up my day. However, it is a relatively good description of current news.
