(3 photos) A charmed, 6:30 a.m.  paddle today: baby loons, baby deer, herons and baby blackbirds.   And all before breakfast!  The nicest part was that, excluding that sly heron ( I never see him in time!),  none of them were spooked into missing their breakfasts.   The deer, spotted between two trees,  seemed quite curious about me.  This may actually not be such a good thing considering how much hunting goes on around here in the fall.

My before breakfast experience today was my parents’ dog getting a face full of porcupine quills. Ah, isn’t nature wonderful?
