You are so right. Cat owners are just the tip of the iceberg. Although we did used to have a friend whose cat ( according to his irate neighbours) -caught about 1 songbird each day. That’s pretty impressive. Around Chelsea, though, the cats are often eaten by fishers and coyotes – which may balance the odds somewhat but is a horrible way for a pet to die.
Sorry, I think dumping on a cat is a bit far fetched. Humans have far more negative impact on nature than cats.
