Carnivorous Pitcher Plant.  Apparently they are very common, but I had never seen them before.

Great to see a picture of Purple Pitcher Plant flowers when they still have petals attached! Most people don’t catch them before they have fallen. It’s the official flower of Newfoundland and Labrador, but not so common here – just found in bogs and bog-mats beside rivers and lakes.
