Great weather, fabulous scenery, and a worthwhile outing, however it was on disappointingly stale, hard trails. You can read the entire report on the XCOttawa ski trails site.

I lucked into great conditions yesterday from Relais Plein Air and again today from P5. The Parkways were freshly groomed, at least on one side although the other side was still fine. I even cruised back down #15 from Mackenzie King to the Gatineau Parkway today and apart from two sets of footprints found it very good. Really not sure why it merits a thumbs down on the NCC trails website.
Thanks Joanne, loved your comment wrt if one is over 40 and hence have less than perfect knees. I am a very young 55, :), with dual knee replacements. Thus I only ski classic and nothing extreme. Again thank you for the real updates, I check your site more than any other.
I’m always amazed how conditions can change in a 24 hour period.
