The sunflowers came up from spilled bird seed – and the bees love them! This is not a macro shot, but taken about a foot away from the flower (and the bee). Such peaceful creatures they are, and he was totally absorbed in his task.
We have tons of bumblebees this year around our coneflowers and bee balm…I definitely don’t mind getting up close to them…they never seem interested in me or threatened like wasps.
