These 4 photos were taken before 11:30. The snow continues to fall. As Fortune Parkway is presently closed for road construction, I opted for P9. It was minus 1, and by some miracle my grip wax actually (more or less) worked. There were tracks from a previous classic skier as well as a skate skier. I met a skate skier and two walkers. The sounds of the snow falling was heavenly!

I just missed you. I was actually out early (for me) from 9.40 to around 10.40 and I skiied, or slogged, from P5 to P8 then back and up the hill a bit. Used my waxless, which clumped a bit, but not bad considering how wet the snow is.
And I almost went to P5 – too bad we didn’t cross paths!
You mention that Fortune Pkwy was closed due to construction, but I see nothing on the NCC site indicating that, and today they mark it as being groomed, at least for skate skiing. When I can get out on the weekend, that is where I usually start for the first ski of the season as it is the most reliable for snow.
Kevin – I hadn’t realized the construction would be finished so quickly!
