I have to chase them off my bird feeder several times a day. They are very smart and agile, plus aggressive enough to attack the larger black and gray squirrels.
Our feeders are safe except when the snow gets super high. Most years the red squirrels vanish after a few weeks (devoured ?)but this year we had 3 all winter, not even counting the larger squirrels.
