(Everything is falling apart these days. It took 3 days to get a reply when this site was down. Finally they told me to fix it myself, even though I hadn’t caused the down time. This same support group used to fix outages within an hour). Anyway, I had a most excellent early kayak this morning!! I heard a distant wolf howl (first one in a couple of years), watched a heron, spotted a bald eagle and had a love-in with two laid-back loons. And to complete a perfect day enjoyed a very cold swim. More photos to follow but not of the swim!

I did a mild panic thinking you might have finally decided to retire your blog. Whew!! I know it’s a big commitment, and one day that will be a reality, but I want you to know I really appreciate your dedication and talent. Even the winter plumage on the loons is beautiful.
How sweet of you, Lorraine. I do hope that when I quit I will have a chance to say goodbye. When I started doing the blog I didn’t imagine it would last so many years!
