I find juncos prefer to feed on the ground, underneath the feeder that other birds are using. Your new feeder, being large and flat, might prove attractive to them.
My brother made a similar, roofless feeder which is attracting juncos. Here we generally have them only for short periods, on the ground. I worry a bit about neighbours’ cats. Fingers crossed.
